Additional Notes: When Vash next returns to his quarters in Magisteria, he will find two gifts, presented in tandem but each serving different purposes. The first is a plant, or specifically, a planter box containing the native Nightglow Flowers of Magisteria. But not just any Nightglow Flowers: the planter contains the Glowshade Ferns and Phantom Lilies from the Elysian Grove. These mystical flowers are the ancestors of Magisteria's Nightglow Flowers. They carry the blessing of the spectral candle; they can be used in dire situations to restore the glow of Bios to darkened places or act as a mystical candle to help a person traverse the darkest depths of Magisteria and Medeas, the places that would otherwise rend asunder a human mind.
The other gift is contained within a case: A sleek, silver revolver with ornate engravings resembling a roulette wheel on the barrel, with numbers or symbols etched in a circle around the cylinder. The gun itself seems unusually pristine, with a handle made of wood/bone, and a faint glow emanating from the barrel, as though imbued with something more than technology.
The name of this gun is Roulette. When used in a life-or-death situation, particularly when Vash is trying to save a person or people he cares for, the desire to protect another person can cause the gun to fire a perfect shot capable of taking out a Boss-level antagonist. However, this ability is (for now) limited to a single use, so choose that shot carefully! Otherwise, its abilities are unpredictable: it may shoot great shots, or it may backfire or go off wildly. Hence the name! The gun is symbolic of Vash's luck, which often swings between improbable success and disaster.
🎁 Each gift an Otherworlder receives upon arrival into Magisteria serves as the symbol of the character's journey. They evolve and/or PCs receive other gifts with game participation. The gift log can be found here.
